My YouTube Faves

I realize I might be the last one to find out about these videos, but I LOVE them. They both make me smile and tear up a little, but in entirely different ways. ENJOY!

Home is Wherever I'm With You - Our recent family "quote" and favorite song, a huge reason why I love this video... so sweet!

Double Dream Hands - If only Justin and I could master this for the dancefloor in time for the next wedding we attend!

Silent Auction

Neil, Sarah, me, Justin
Headed out for a night out to support our friends Adriane and Hook who put so much work into their annual Crown Ball supporting The Ryan Gibson Foundation for Leukemia. www.trgf.org

He won!
Did I mention that it was a Silent Auction, and Justin was stalking his bid on this tiny wingback chair ALL night!
He carried it out of the party victoriously over his head like a big trophy (or like a miniature chair).

And he did it all for Carlyle, of course.

Laissez Le Bon Ton Roulet

What a fun weekend in New Orleans! Zuzu was there waiting for us and ready to spend some girl time with Carlyle. We left early Friday morning and spent the first two nights at Aunt Gammy and Big Bird's house in the Garden District. Its pretty much the PERFECT mini-vacation... amazing location, food, family, and the weather was perfect for walking to Magazine. Its hard to complain when the daily menu consists of po-boys, king cake, and Uncle Steve's boiled shrimp!
Check out sweet blue eyes enjoying some local flavor.
Happy with a face full of French Bread

Or a lemmon. She loves to suck on lemons and sometimes eats the rhine.
And still, she's a picky eater?

We spent Sunday night with our dear friends (family), the Jenkins. We took the girls to the French Quarter, walked around, and danced in the street. As if we hadn't already had enough, we topped the night off with beignets at Cafe du Monde... yum! Carlyle approved.

The girls put on quite a show on Royal. It was so fun to watch them draw a crowd. We debated putting down a hat to collect tips.

Nightime Chat with Daddy

Carlyle loves to chat. She has a lot to say and will mimic almost anything we ask her to say at this point! My list of new words is hard to keep up with, so I guess I'm waiting for her first full sentence?

This is her talk with Daddy before bedtime the other night:

Snow Days

A full week of isolation will make you do crazy things! We had to be VERY creative with our indoor activities, as you can see. Tuesday through Saturday is a long time to be in a house with a toddler, but we made the best of it. Thursday night (before the heavy snow fell again on Friday), we took a very slow and safe drive to the mall for Baby Bounce music class at Bookmarks (a Dallas Public Library store in the mall). The mall was full of parents with toddlers ready to run off some energy!

She did not particularly like the sledding . . .

and she definitely did NOT like the snow . . .

but she LOVED the swing!
(as usual)

Some of our indoor activities consisted of:
  • boxcar racing (custom-built by Daddy, complete with extension cord pull)
  • dancing to music
  • building sofa cushion forts and mountains
  • rocking on the giraffe

Playing with Mercer (will be 3 yrs old in April!). She thinks he's hilarious!
