Say What?!

Carlyle jabbers and chatters her way through the house these days. I can't wait to find out what all she is trying to tell us, but here are a few things we know for sure:

(at 13 months old)

Ba = Ball
Da Da = Daddy, Mama, and Baby
Ma Ma = I want food or drink
Na Na = Snack (as she stands by the pantry door waiting)
Buh-yee = Bunny
B-wee = Pretty or Bird (not completely sure what it means, but she says it a lot)
Dat-dah = Thank you
Uh Oh
Du-ckh = Duck
Ooh Ooh (high pitched) = Doggie
Wow
Whoa
Mmmm = When she sees water or something is tasty.
Aahhh = Eye
Wah Wah = Water
Tzees = Cheese
Eph = Step
Daaah = Down
Doh Coh = Coco the monkey

Carlyle with her rediscovered pal "Doh Coh"
She gets a running start to tackle him on the floor... sometimes, she just stays for a cuddle.

What does the Doggie say? Ooh Ooh
What does the Horsey say? Eheheheh (kind of sounds like a machine-gun laugh)
What does the Chicken say? Bok Bok
What does Santa say? Oh Oh Oh

Where is your belly button? pulls up her dress and points to it
Where is Mommy's eye? says "aahh" and points to it
Where is your mouth? sticks her finger in her mouth

Loves Hide & Seek
Likes to give soggy open mouth kisses on your chin
Will run and give you a hug if you are waiting for it

Naughty or Nice?

T.B.D......
Who is this? And why am I sitting on his lap?
Bless her heart, who can blame her? She was a perfectly happy angel before we went into Santa's house (Santa traveled to Northpark Mall this year with his own cozy house and roaring fire in the fireplace). She was OK until I plopped her on his knee. Santa knew what was coming, and he had bells in hand to entertain her. It didn't work, obviously.
There's always next year!

Blog? What Blog?

I at least have to acknowledge the fact that I haven't updated the blog in a MONTH, but we have been chasing a toddler. By the way, I wasn't aware that my baby would technically become a "toddler" when she turned one! Life is busy, but we must like it that way. Any downtime we get, we seem to fill it up with something new and exciting. We did have a nice weekend in Dallas at home, bought and decorated a tree, and put some Griswald-esqe lights on the house. If life is this crazy with one, how do you do it with two?!

Justin looked at me last night while we were brushing our teeth and said, "You know no one in this family showered today?"
That pretty much sums it up, ha!
