Tu-Too Cute

After bathtime the other night, I couldn't resist trying on her tutu as she roamed the house.

She was hard to catch! Getting faster every day.

How excited does she look with her tutu and her nasal spray in hand?!
She seems determined to try to walk everywhere now. We are not seeing as much crawling this week.

Month Eleven

So far the month of eleven has been full of constant change. She walked and got her first tooth within the same week, and we renovated our kitchen in a record 12 days. (more on that to come) Obvious reasons why I have been too busy to update the blog.

I could not resist buying this for her [birthday].

Some of Carlyle's developments worth noting:
  • Thinks belly buttons are hilarious... likes to point, touch, then tries to bite it.
  • "uh oh, uh oh" about everything... sometimes the first thing we hear from her nursery in the morning. Usually says it about things falling on the ground, already on the ground, or loud noises
  • Plays chase up and down the hallway - "Where's Carlyle?" and she comes crawling
  • "Ball, Ball, Ball" Can throw the ball back and forth with you. Yes, throw, with purpose and really good aim!
  • Starting to laugh when you say, play, or do pattycake with her (still kind of hates to have her arms manipulated though)
  • Dislikes getting dressed
  • Really dislikes diaper changes (a lot of distractions are necessary to get through it)
  • In her second month of school now, and she has missed about 50% because of fever and cold
  • Peekaboo is still a favorite
  • High pitched "woof, oof" when she hears or sees a dog or we say "doggie"
  • Laughs when I play Beyonce's Single Ladies
  • She can dance (bounce to the music)
  • Watches your mouth intently trying to figure out what and how you are saying words.
  • Said "Duh-cch" when the Wonder Pets duck was on TV
  • Tries to share her finger foods with you and laughs when you partake
  • She has developed a fake laugh that is hilarious... not sure if she is imitating the creepy baby doll laugh, but its pretty similar

Look Who's Walking

Carlyle has been making strides over this past week... 6 steps at a time, 8 steps, now 25! Watch as "young frankenstein" crosses the room. Seems like the trick to her confidence is having something in her hand. In this case, she was enjoying some french bread.

Fall is in the air

This particular time of year holds a special place in my heart. I have always loved Fall, but this time last year, when the weather started to get cool and the first pumpkin showed up at the grocery store... OUR little pumpkin was almost here. I really have fond memories of the anticipation and excitement we were feeling. We had no idea exactly how much our lives were about to change, and as hard as I tried to imagine it, I couldn't quite grasp just how incredible life would be with Carlyle in it.

Just a swingin' on our morning walk. The weather is perfect!
