Let's Crawl, Stand, and Get Baptized today!

Last Sunday was a big day for Carlyle. We had her baptism at our new church, Highland Park United Methodist. She decided to crawl across the room for the first time, and she is perfecting her balancing act. She loves to pull up on whatever she can get her hands on.
Justin took this sweet photo of Carlyle in her christening dress.

It looks like she is kneeling in the pew, waiting to go to the front of the church.
(Notice: the dress fits! I was worried that I'd waited so long to schedule her baptism that she wouldn't be able to wear the heirloom David family dress.)

Her "jungle gym"
These days, she'd rather pull up on the outside of her toy than play inside of it.

Look, no hands!
(she can balance for about 10-20 seconds)
Trying to stand up from a sitting position.
At this rate, I give it a month before she walks!

To Swat a Fly

I have NEVER heard her laugh this hard! I was trying to swat a fly, and she erupted. She really gets going about halfway through the video.

1.5 Minutes

"One minute" is taking on a whole new definition. This was the last time that I left her alone in the middle of the room by herself. I came back a minute or so later, and she was quite pleased with herself!

And because I wasn't in the room to witness how she got there, I would say its a combination of rolling, scooting, and half-crawling.

Summertime....

And the livin' is easy.

Carlyle can hang out in this for about an hour... laid back and relaxing.

Can you say....?

Da-Da (da-da-da-da-da)

Rabbit

Yes, we are pretty sure she said "rabbit" the other day while playing Peek-a-boo Barn with Lauren on her IPad.

Among other noises like: Ba-Ba-Ba, Gi-Gi, Btha-Btha, and spitting bubbles.
We know she doesn't quite know what she is saying when she is saying it, but she is constantly taking notes and practicing what she hears. Its remarkable to see how quickly things change from week to week.
