Our First Missed First

Justin and I missed a "first" on Monday night, but not to worry... she has been on a ROLL ever since. Chad and Shauna were over to babysit so we could go out for my birthday dinner. They documented Carlyle's official first roll. She had come so close, so many times before, but she finally made it all the way over... and with purpose! Today, I left her sitting in the middle of the room. Not even 3 minutes later, I went back in to check on her, and she had rolled over and over and made her way to the doorway. I'm convinced she was coming to get me.

Mobile Moments

These are some random moments documented on my iPhone, and I wanted to share . . .

Our babydoll sitting on the table, greeting the customers, at Tiny Boxwoods in Houston last weekend.

She fell asleep in the car, and I thought she looked like a little French clown holding a balloon. She had on the cutest toile puffy dress and pantaloons. We left that ribbon tied up, what like a cat toy, for quite a while until I worried that she might try to swallow it!

Let's GO MAVS. Compliments of Lauren Callon!

When the paci falls out, she is out.

And I hesitated posting this for obvious reasons. Like father like daughter?
uh oh.

Carlyle and Johnny

We introduced Carlyle to Johnny Jumper a couple of months ago; it was obviously too early, because she could barely see over the edge. But now, look at her go! Thank goodness for the bouncer and the jumper these days. When she's not sitting on the floor, she is determined to stand (and make jungle noises). Our arms would be worn out if it weren't for them!

Sitting at Six

Almost on the day, Carlyle starting sitting on her own at 6 months. She needed more support in the beginning, but we have since learned that we can leave her alone on the floor to correct her own balance. She's even learned to fall "gracefully", holding her head up and placing her arms behind her to brace the fall.

With Shauna acting as backboard and Chad as entertainment, this is Carlyle sitting up a couple of weeks ago.
