What is wrong with these pictures?

I have no idea when they are supposed to be ready for these seats, but I think Mom and Dad got a little ahead of themselves. Her neck is so strong, we wanted to see how she did in her seat.
I took this pic with my phone, but it captured a hilarious moment. She looks so much older sitting up with her hands crossed in her lap!

Justin and I (ok, mostly Justin) spend a lot of time walking the lap inside our house because she loves movement. Can anyone guess where she gets that from?!
But this pic captured Carlyle holding on tight to an "It's a Girl" cigar. She carried it for a good half hour. Thanks Lee and Hyde for the cigars, and I'm sure you didn't intend for them to be for baby.

Six Weeks old today!

I found my smile!
She is so fun to watch more and more everyday, mostly smiling and cooing at our faces and at her favorite Walter Anderson print of a frog (she's loved looking at that from week 1).

And she can frown. Ha!

Proud Daddy

I love when she knocks out like this, with her arms around me.

And my first attempt at naked baby pictures.

She loves her bath, when she is in the water, that is. Not as big a fan of the cold exit.

Miss Sweet Feet

I could not stop admiring her little feet the other night. They are so sweet and tiny!

In pink and white, coordinating with our Christmas tree! We haven't been out too much, but she was bundled when we ventured to the grocery store Sunday.

Meet Coco!
The super-sized sock monkey, a gift from Chris Heard. He said it was the only thing in the store that made him smile and reminded him of Justin. Ha! We love him, her... not sure of the gender.

And the stockings were hung...

My Mom and I worked on Christmas stockings between trading off with Carlyle over the past month. I think they turned out great! Its fun to see our family of three on the mantle!

Carlyle is sleeping really well in my opinion. And I'm sure I'm jinxing myself just by saying this. At four weeks she is sleeping in 5-6 hours shifts at night, sometimes 7 hours. I know these things change weekly, but typically she'll go from around 11-5 and 6-9, and I am not complaining! Also, we weighed her yesterday on our scale, holding her of course. We think she's about 9.2 lbs.

Not bragging about the fact that she is in our bed (a habit I'd rather not start), but its easy to feed her and get her to sleep in our bed during our 6-9 morning nap time. She looks so sweet in the mornings!

E.A.M.

I expect a miracle and I'm asking you to keep up your positive thoughts and prayers. Because I feel like my closest friends and family check the blog often, I thought I'd share the latest with my Dad. An update from my Mom:

Dear Friends and Family
We have just returned from a month in Dallas with our precious new granddaughter, Carlyle Elizabeth Garrity. She is wonderful! You can take a peek at her progress on www.dalalimama.blogspot.com. We had a wonderful time in Dallas and got in a good bit of visiting with Lauren and family and Chad and his girlfriend, Shauna. Alex flew in for Thanksgiving so we were all together at Lauren and Justin's house.

Unfortunately, during our last week there, Chee Chee began to experience some seizure-like episodes. We had an MRI done and sent it to the doctors at Duke. They believe it may show evidence of a new tumor ------ not sure -- we head to Duke on Sunday and then some more tests to confirm ------ there is a possibility that what they are seeing is a rare side effect of the drug Avastin -- this is Chee Chee's theory and it could turn out to be true ------------ will be in touch -- please PFAM and EAM Sb
